Our
Story

How centuries of Bajan tradition became a premium rum punch for the modern bar.

01
The Origin

The island that invented rum punch

Barbados isn't just where Bridgetown Club was born in spirit — it's where rum itself was born. The island is home to the oldest commercial rum distillery on earth, and the Bajan rum punch tradition predates every cocktail trend, every RTD category, every premium spirits boom.

Bridgetown is the capital. It's where the traders docked, where the rum houses opened, where the punch recipe took root. In the laneways and rum shops of Bridgetown, the formula wasn't written down — it was passed between generations, debated at family gatherings, and measured by feel more than by formula.

That's the tradition we're bottling.

Bringing the authentic to the UK

The UK premium spirits market is sophisticated. Bartenders and consumers have stopped accepting generic "Caribbean" rums that could come from anywhere. They're asking for provenance, craft, and story.

Bridgetown Club was built to answer that demand. Not a vague tropical theme. Not a derivative cocktail. The real Bajan rum punch — made with authentic ingredients, presented in packaging worthy of the recipe, and sold at a price point that signals seriousness.

We're not recreating Caribbean rum punch. We're bottling the Bajan original.

The Vision

The Craft

One sour. Two sweet. Three strong. Four weak.

Every Bajan knows the recipe by heart. It's not a cocktail formula — it's a cultural code, passed down through generations in rhyme so it can never be forgotten.

The Sacred Ratio
1 of Sour
2 of Sweet
3 of Strong
4 of Weak

Sour is fresh lime. Sweet is cane sugar. Strong is Barbadian rum — proper rum, not a blend. Weak is water. The ratio is sacred; the ingredients are non-negotiable.

Bridgetown Club elevates this with premium rum and natural ingredients, no artificial flavours, no shortcuts. We've bottled the formula at the right ABV for sipping, not for shotting. It's rum punch as it was always meant to be served.

Why Bridgetown Club?

Bridgetown is the capital and largest city of Barbados. It's the birthplace of Barbadian rum culture — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a city built on the maritime trade of sugar and rum, where the punch tradition has been alive for centuries.

Club evokes what the best rum punch has always been about: membership, belonging, exclusivity of the good kind. Not a velvet rope — a table you're welcome at if you know your rum.

"The kind of name that works on a menu, a shelf, and a business card."

Together, the name signals exactly what the product is: authentic Bajan provenance, premium positioning, and a sense of occasion.

The Bottle

A bottle you don't hide behind the bar

The barrel shape is a deliberate nod to the rum barrel heritage of Barbados — the casks that aged the spirit, that were loaded onto ships in Bridgetown harbour, that defined an industry and a culture for four centuries.

The ship's wheel stopper reinforces that maritime heritage. The black and gold colour scheme signals premium positioning without shouting it. This is a bottle guests pick up and ask about.

Most RTDs hide in a can or a generic bottle. Bridgetown Club is designed to sit on a back bar, on a home bar shelf, or on a dinner table as a centrepiece. The packaging is part of the experience.
